Whether you love your name or not. Be proud of it! That's your name!

Hello, Good Readers :D
How was your day? I sincerely hope you had a good day. Well, at this moment I'm going to post my first post ever on my blog. Considering this is my first post, I think I will let you know such an interesting topic today. First, however, I would like to ask you a question.

Do you like your name?

I know probably you got confused about my question. But, believe or not, there are so many people in this world who don't like their own names. Are you one of those people? Well, if you ask me that question I'll make sure that I'll answer, "No". Because, although my name doesn't really sound beautiful but I'm proud of my own name and I hope you're proud of yours as well.

Talking about name issues, here I've got a picture of an article titled, "Do people like their first names?"

In the article that was adapted from The Columbus Dispatch above, you could see that there was a woman named Delana Pence. She didn't really like her first name because she got a lot of teasing from the other children when she was a child. She said that people would mispronounce it and make fun of it. On the other hand, there was a girl name Ember Gibson who's still confused about her own name. Just like Delana, people also mispronounced her name. Sometimes, another children would call her Amber but she thought her name was original so hasn't decided that she liked her own name or not. "Maybe by the time I graduate, I'll know if I like it or not", Ember said.

See? Just like Delana and Ember. There might be so many people who doesn't like their first name, too. I, however, do love my name. My name is Umi Urmilah. Haven't I told you before? Well, it's not important again because now you've known my name, haven't you?
My first name "Umi", I got from my grandfather, my mother's father to be exact. He gave me that name just because or I don't know. I think I haven't asked him why he gave me that name. I didn't even curious about that, I always thought it's good because it's my name. So, why did I have to be curious?

Yet since my name sounded so familiar in Indonesia and for every muslim's ears because muslims' children often call their mother with "Umi". So, commonly my name, Umi, means "Mother". It's good, isn't it? Maybe my grandfather wanted me to be a good mother when I would have a child in the future.

My last name, Urmilah, otherwise is rarely used in Indonesia. About this, I had asked my parents. I once asked, "Mom, why is my last name Urmilah? I don't know what it means". Then, my mom said, "Ehm.. neither do I. Your father and I just got inspired from Indian Actress, Urmila Matondkar. So, we gave you the name".

My family indeed really liked Bollywood stuffs, such as Movies and Songs. So I didn't wonder why they gave me a name the way it was. Well, I've gotten the answer of my question and I didn't have a problem about that. Besides, Urmila seemed suitable for my first name.

Just if you're curious about Urmila Matondkar. Here is her picture:

Beautiful, isn't she?

I know what you're thinking now. If my parents gave me Urmila for my last name so how could my name turn to Umi Urmilah, and not Umi Urmila? It was the leader of my village's fault! He made a mistake when he filled in the data for my new family registers. He put the 'h' in my last name. It was a little bit embarrasaing if I try to remember, actually. Since it happened when I was still an elementary school student, some of my friends started teasing me like, "Hey, Milah" and like, "Hahahaha..Milah, Milah". Ugh, it was awful.

However, like it or not, that's my name. I had to be proud of it and I'm still proud of it now and always be.  So, that's the history of my name. How about yours? Let me know yours and put it on the comment box below! :D

Here I got three interesting questions from the same article. I am so exited to answer the questions and talk about it here in my writing.

See, I'm going to answer the first question. If I have a child, what would I name him or her? Why?

OK, that's so awkward for me because I had never thought about that even for once. But, still, one day I also have a wish to be a mother and if I had a chance to have children, I would name my son Gilang, it is an Indonesian boy name means "bercahaya terang, terang sekali, amat elok, baik sekali, cemerlang" or "shining bright, bright once, very beautiful, excellent, brilliant". As a mother, of course I want my son to be an excellent and brilliant child. Just as meaning of the name, I want my son to have a very bright future later on.

If I had a daughter, I would name her Nadia. Nadia means "penuh harapan, lembut, basah, panggilan" or "full of hope, soft, wet, call". Honestly, when I think about Nadia, I remember a fictional character on The Vampire Diaries show, Nadia Petrova.

Nadia Petrova, played by Olga Fonda.

She loved her mother so much even though her mother was mean a lot to her. Sure I wouldn't be mean to my daughter, but I would be very happy if my daughter would love me no matter what.

The second question is what are my three favorit English names for males and females? This is my favorite question of all. Well, My first favorite English name for male is Justin Bieber. Why? Because I am a huge belieber and I love him so much. He is my everything. Besides, Justin as a name is cool, isn't it?

Justin Bieber

Damon, Damon Salvatore is my second favorite English name for male. Damon Salvatore was a bad-tempered vampire from a tv show, The Vampire Diaries. He was my favorite fictional character ever. That's why I put Damon as one of my favorite names.

Just if you want to know about Damon more, here is the link where you can watch the show online : https://filmapik.ca/tvshows/the-vampire-diaries/

Damon Salvatore, played by Ian Somerhalder.

And my third fav English name for male is Jason McCann. Jason McCann was a serial killer and serial bomber who appeared on the eleventh season in CSI:Crime Scene Investigation in 2011. The reason I like Jason as a name because it sounds similar with Justin and actually who played the role as Jason McCan on CSI was Justin Bieber (Don't judge me pls.lol)

Jason McCan, played by Justin Bieber.

There they are. My three favorite English names for males. Now, I will mention my three favorite English names for femlaes. The first one is Waverly Bell.

Waverly Bell was a main fictional black-haired girl character of a mistery romance story by Vivian Geovani, titled The Electric Trilogy. The reason why I liked her because she was so strong, brave, and also cute. Sometimes, I really wanted to be Wave and had her personality. I'm pretty sure it would be so amazing.

Waverly Bell, roled by Adelaide Kane.

Then, the second one is Avelynn. I didn't know why I liked this name yet I thought it's so cute. Seriously, I made this name by myself. I was inspired from Waverly and then I made a little changing and ended up with Avelynn. Sometimes, I imagined my name was Avelynn, not Umi. I guessed it would be cute when people calling me Ave. Imagined someone would talk to me and say, "Hey, Ave. How've you been? I've missed you!" Oughh, cute, isn't it?

And the last one is Chelsea. I swear, I didn't take this name because I'm one of Chelsea fan, lol. No, I didn't really like football actually. Chelsea here also was a fictional character from a hollywood-life romance story titled Is It Love?, by Febrya Kartika. Chelsea was also one of my favorite fictional characters.

Here we are, in the last question of all. If I could change my name, what would I change it to? And Why?

Well, I've mentioned it before that if I could change my name it would be Avelynn. Could you imagine? Everyone is going to call me Ave! Yeay, finally! Or, maybe I would change my name to be Hailey Baldwin so I can marry Justin Bieber, lol. I'm kidding. But, seriously, she is the luckiest girl on this planet.

Here it is! Finally, I've managed to finish my first post here. Hope you like my writing, guys:) See you on my next posts! Much love.
